Next session: March 16th, 2024

The Pysanka, a decorated egg, was common among Slavic people as far back as 5,000 BC and was an important spring ritual. In this one-day class, we will decorate eggs in the Ukrainian style—designs are drawn on the egg with melted beeswax, which flows from a tool called a Kystka. The eggs are then dipped in a series of dyes, and the final pattern is revealed when the wax is removed.

Please bring reading glasses, if you use them.

Lesia is happy to welcome families to this class to share the art form with the younger generation. Students between the ages of 8 and 16 are welcome to register with their participating parent or guardian.

There will be a $20 materials fee (cash or check only) due to the instructor at the start of the class for all adult students. There will be a $5 materials fee made payable to the instructor at the start of the class for all child students (ages 8-16). A storm makeup will be Mar. 23 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM in Room 125 and 127.
