Strength Training for Seniors 50+ – MS

Learn how to implement regular strength training into your week to improve your quality of life. We will progress through an 8-class program where you will be introduced to the basics of movements that will compliment the demands of day-to-day life. You will leave with an understanding of what to do to stay strong at home, what gym equipment is best for you, and have some fun. Bring an exercise mat or small blanket and 1 to 5 pound weights, which you can purchase at most Department or Sporting Goods Stores. There will be no class on 4/15. There will be a storm make up class offered on May 20 if needed. Limit 10 students.

Stress Relief Yoga: Gentle Yoga and Meditation

School St. Yoga's Kathleen Haberstock will lead this calming class will boost your immune system, releasing tension from problem areas with gentle movement and restorative yoga poses. Yogic breathing techniques and meditation will balance and refresh. The goal is to leave you feeling more relaxed and easeful after each class and to bring equilibrium to body and mind. All students should bring a blanket or a towel to class. Students who have their own mat and props (block, belts, etc.), please bring those in addition to a blanket or towel. No prior yoga experience required. Limit 15 students.

Parents Virtual Lunch and Learn: Cooking Matters – MS

If you are the parent or caregiver of children 0-5 years old, this class is specifically designed for your cooking challenges! The class will feature lessons in meal prep, a virtual grocery shopping tour, food budgeting, basic nutrition, and ways to be more physically active. We will talk about PICKY eaters, introducing new foods, and how to have your family be more involved with meal planning. You will learn healthy new recipes and how to choose healthy foods.This class meets online each week, so there is no requirement to arrange childcare. Students who attend all 4 classes and complete all course work will be mailed a good bag which includes a Hannaford gift card and a new cookbook! After you have registered for the class, you will be sent an online survey to complete before the class starts. There will be no class on Mar 11, but there will be course work for you to complete. Limit 10 students.

Candace Sanborn, of Radiant Image, will show you easy makeup tips that give you an enhanced, natural appearance! Together with Candace, you'll identify your face, eye, and lip shapes then you'll learn makeup application techniques to enhance your features. Martial Arts for Women – MS

Come join Martial Arts for Women! This class is open to women of all ages and abilities who have wanted to try karate but have been too intimidated to do so. This female only session will introduce martial arts in way, where initially, women will learn the basics of karate through blocks, punches and kicks and then progress to working with a partner. Class will end with a self-defense technique, applicable to how a women should respond if encountered in real life. This class will allow women to try something different in a fun way. No experience necessary. Instructor, Hollie, welcomes students who are 15 or older. Students under 17 must have a parent or guardian remain on-site for the duration of the class. Limit 20 students.
