This fifteen-week class explores a general overview of developing healthy living habits in both food consumption and hygiene for today and for the future. The first half of the class will focus on nutrition, meal planning and shopping on a budget along with actual hands-on practice culminating with a trip to Hannaford Stores for a tour and presentation on the importance of purchasing healthier foods for themselves and their families. We have partnered with SNAP-Ed to provide nutrition facts and evidence-based research throughout this portion of the course. The second half will focus on the maintenance of personal, house, organ, and neighborhood hygiene and the benefits that come from these practices. No class Feb. 17, and Apr. 20.
