Join us for a bike maintenance workshop for Teens and Adults. Are you curious about bicycle mechanics? Would you like to maintain your bike better, do repairs yourself, or get your bike ready for spring? Would you like to be better prepared to fix breakdowns when you are out on the road? Bring your bike and tool kit, if you have one. A parent or guardian must accompany students 13-16 years. Rain date will be Saturday, May 17. When registering please mark this date on your calendar just in case it rains on May 10. Donations are welcome to the Bicycle Coalition of Maine by cash or check or via their website anytime at www.bikemaine.org/donate. Limit 18 students.

Learn to Ride a Bike*

If you never learned to ride a bike as a kid, you’re not alone and you’re not too late! We will guide you through simple steps to help get you rolling and build your confidence on two wheels. This class is open to teenagers and adults who haven’t learned to ride a bike before. Bring a 2-wheel bike to learn on—one where the seat can be set low enough to sit with both heels flat (no “tip-toes”) on the ground and knees slightly bent. We will focus on balancing, pedaling, and bicycle control. A parent or guardian must accompany students 13-16 years. Rain date will be Saturday, May 17. Tai Chi for Health and Balance is an enjoyable exercise that can improve balance, relieve pain, and improve health and ability to do things. It is a slow exercise. It is easy to learn and good for all ability levels. The essential principles of Tai Chi include mind and body integration, fluid movements, controlled breathing and mental concentration. Tai Chi is one of the most effective exercises for the health of mind and body. It helps people to relax and feel better. Book and DVD available for purchase upon request. There will be no class oduring school vacation on April 22nd and April 25th. Storm make up/s will be on May 6th and May 9th. Limit 20 students.
