The so-called “oriental” or round leaf bittersweet is a creeping vine with inedible berries that is considered invasive in North America. It is a frustrating plant for gardeners and arborists, and it isn't very popular with birds either. But in this class we will make a traditional basket from its vines. We will cover identification, responsible collection, processing, and storage. We will cover the basics of stake-and-strand twining, and weaving to create a basket that you will cherish for many years to come. Limit 10 students.
