Is your closet full of black-colored clothing? Would you like to learn what other colors look good on you? In this fun interactive class, you'll be draped in a variety of colors to learn about warmer and cooler tones to determine what types of colors look best on you. You'll also receive recommendations for eye shadows, blush and lipsticks, along with sunglasses colors and jewelry metals to flatter your coloring!! Limit 12 students.

Guitar for Fun*

In this class you will learn the basic chords and scales. By the end of the 6-week class you will be able to play songs for your own entertainment or to entertain others. You will need a guitar, Hal Leonard Guitar Lesson Book 1 (cost about $10) and a 3-ring binder for our class notes. However, please do not buy until you hear from the office. Bring songs that you know or want to learn and bring extra copies for other. Limit 10 students

Jewelry Making: Tree of Life Pendant / Intermediates*

Create a beautiful piece of jewelry for yourself or craft the perfect Mother’s Day gift in this hands-on jewelry making experience! We will make a 2-inch copper wire-wrapped Tree of Life Pendant and matching earrings. There will be a $30 Materials Fee which will cover the cost of the wire and stones and is payable to the instructor (cash or check) at the beginning of class. Once we have enough students for the class you will receive a Supply List via email from the Adult Ed secretary. Pictures of the jewelry and tools you will need to buy will be on our webpage at midmaine.maineadulted.org. Limit 10 students.

Basket Making with Bittersweet Vine*

The so-called “oriental” or round leaf bittersweet is a creeping vine with inedible berries that is considered invasive in North America. It is a frustrating plant for gardeners and arborists, and it isn't very popular with birds either. But in this class we will make a traditional basket from its vines. We will cover identification, responsible collection, processing, and storage. We will cover the basics of stake-and-strand twining, and weaving to create a basket that you will cherish for many years to come. Limit 10 students.

This class will focus is to increase your comfortability both in front of the camera and while being behind it. Required supplies: a mindset of learning and a camera if you own one, cellphone cameras are okay! Let's create more smiles and better photographs together!

How to Cast a Fly Rod

Learn fundamentals of casting from a Fly Fishers International Certified Casting Instructor. Beginners to advanced casters welcome. You will learn on a one-to-one basis how to make the basic cast, a roll cast, line management, casting in wind, aerial mends and other useful casting techniques. Special Instructions: This class will be held OUTDOORS. Bring a 4-7 wt. fly rod with a floating line. Also bring a hat and sunglasses to protect head and eyes. Instructor will provide a leader and practice fly to attach to your fly line. First class will meet in classroom before going outside to field.
